SAMURA.006
Oversized SAMURA nomad bag is a perfect companion on your inter-dimensional and other kind of journeys. This bag features vintage Ewe Kente Clothes from Volta region, Ghana on a canvas base.
Ewe textiles are produced through narrow strip-weaving, with individually woven bands sewn together to form larger cloths. Designs are created directly on the loom using supplementary weft techniques, resulting in floating geometric motifs embedded within fields of coloured stripes.
Unlike the highly codified court styles associated with Asante weaving, Ewe kente allows greater individual variation and compositional freedom. Motifs and colour arrangements convey ideas of status, continuity, and social values, though meanings remain contextual. Traditionally worn on ceremonial occasions, Ewe kente is both a visual language and a marker of cultural identity.
