Introducing our one-of-a-kind, Kedar Shirt. It has long sleeves, spread collar and two pockets. This product is cut for loose fit.

This is a vintage very fine silk shirt, with a vibrant fuchsia background, adorned with contemporary hand screen printed motifs, inspired by daisy flowers. The bottom of the shirt features traditional south-Indian motifs, woven in golden Zardozi.

Screen printing, a versatile printing technique, has a history dating back over a thousand years, with its origins traced to ancient China. However, it gained prominence in the modern era during the early 20th century, particularly with the development of photo-reactive chemicals and synthetic materials.

The process involves using a mesh screen to transfer ink onto a substrate, such as fabric, paper, or wood. Each color requires a separate screen, allowing for intricate multi-color designs with precise registration. This technique is favored for its ability to reproduce vibrant colors and fine details consistently.

Zardozi Weaving:
Zardozi weaving is a traditional craft known for its opulent use of metallic threads, typically silver or gold, to create intricate patterns on fabric. This technique involves weaving these metallic threads into the fabric, resulting in a luxurious and textured surface. Originating in ancient India, Zardozi weaving has been historically used to embellish garments with regal and ornate designs.
