These textiles are deeply rooted in their cultural and spiritual heritage and are known for their intricate patterns, bold colors, and use of natural materials.

The textiles are woven on backstrap looms, a portable and ancient weaving device. This method creates narrow strips of cloth that are often sewn together to create larger garments or blankets. Geometric patterns dominate the textiles, including diamonds, zigzags, and stripes. These patterns often have symbolic meanings tied to the Ifugao people’s beliefs and environment, representing mountains, rivers, and rice terraces. Design are often repeptetive and symmetrical.  These textiles are not merely functional but serve as a means of storytelling and cultural preservation. Despite modernization, the Ifugao weaving tradition remains vibrant. Efforts to preserve and promote it, both locally and internationally, ensure its survival as one of the most ancient and significant textile traditions in the Philippines.
